On January 9, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Mongolia, together with the Mongolian Chinese General Chamber of Commerce and the Mongolian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, held a roundtable meeting between Mongolian government departments and Chinese-funded enterprises, as well as a business matchmaking event between China and Mongolia. More than 300 government and enterprise representatives from both sides attended.

Liu Jingzhi, the counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Mongolia, stated that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the heads of state of both countries, China-Mongolia economic and trade cooperation has continued to deepen. Chinese-funded enterprises have actively participated in various project construction in Mongolia and made positive contributions to the local economic and social development. It is hoped that through this roundtable meeting, the channels for communication between the government and enterprises can be further opened up, and relevant issues can be resolved pragmatically, thereby enhancing the investment confidence of Chinese-funded enterprises in Mongolia.
Da Wassorong, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Mongolia, said that China is one of Mongolia's most important trading and investment partners. The Mongolian government welcomes Chinese-funded enterprises to deeply engage in Mongolia for the long term and will continue to improve the legal and policy system to create a favorable business environment for foreign enterprises, including Chinese ones. 

During the meeting, representatives from various branches of the Mongolian Chinese Chamber of Commerce exchanged views with the Mongolian government representatives on issues related to enterprises' investment and operation in Mongolia. The atmosphere was candid and pragmatic.

In his speech at the matchmaking event, Counsellor Liu Jingzhi stated that this event would help facilitate the transition from "mere acquaintance" to "project implementation". He hoped that both enterprises would seize the opportunity of Mongolia's economic recovery, operate legally and in compliance with regulations, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
Mangena Batul, the president of the Mongolian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that strengthening enterprise matchmaking is of great significance for expanding China-Mongolia trade and investment cooperation. He hoped to establish a regular communication mechanism between the two sides and jointly explore cooperation potential.
During the event, the Mongolian-Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, the Mongolian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and enterprises from both sides signed three cooperation memorandums, deepening exchanges between business organizations, cooperation in oil and gas resource development and finance, etc. Ten Chinese and Mongolian enterprises presented their project information on-site, covering energy development, engineering construction, agricultural product processing and service trade, etc. One-on-one exchange and matchmaking activities were also organized simultaneously at the venue.
